I have been working on a series of bridges recently and I just
finished this one today. Although the sky was clear and blue
originally, the Illustration Friday topic: storm inspired me to imagine
the dark clouds in the distance.
The drawing is 8.5 x 26in, ink and acrylic on toned paper.
Are you an architect, Alicia?
ReplyDeleteHi Roberto, no I'm not. But my father taught drafting, did design a house and I along with other courses often teach an intro to perspective course. I think I have been channeling my father lately
Deleteps. thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThis is really awesome!I love the negative space, and the line work in the bridge. Also like the image format! great style
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kevyyn, The format came as the original intent for this drawing is a video project I am working on, the long narrow dimension allows for a vertical pan up the image.. as I worked I realized how much I enjoyed the format as well. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
DeleteThis is a really really cool drawing! Something about it makes me really nervous--I think it's the extreme vertical composition that somehow seems/feels dangerous. Fabulous details and perspective!
ReplyDeleteI love the tension in this. The bridge is strong but the storm is brewing all around. I love the detail and emotion you have captured in this structure.
ReplyDeleteVery nice work.
ReplyDeleteGreat perspective here. The bridge is very imposing...certainly able to weather the storm.
